Denver’s New Bell
Mike Shanahan announced that Mike Bell would be the team’s #1 runningback heading into the preseason. Some speculate that this is simply a move to motivate Tatum Bell and Ron Dayne. I wouldn’t be surprised if Mike Bell was still the team’s #1 heading into the season. This is a move by a coach who started preseason standout Brian Griese over veteran Bubby Brister, despite his insistence that Bubby was their #1 QB, so he isn’t averse to taking chances on unknowns and guys who perform well in practice. On the other hand, I guess that also showed he’s not afraid to change his mind at the last minute. To be honest, I think Shanahan just likes starting backs who share his first name.
why question shanahan’s RB decisions? he always gets the most out of his personnel
although for Denver RB’s, it doesn’t really matter you who stick back there.
