Adam VinatieriThere are reports that Adam Vinatieri is being treated for a sprained ligament in his left or “plant” ankle. It’s unclear when he’ll be ready to play.

Vinatieri’s been the number two kicker drafted in my leagues, but now if you pick him up, you’ll likely need to use another roster spot for a kicker until he’s ready to go again.

Kickers have no business being drafted early. Hope you weren’t one of the suckers to waste a top ten pick on one, let alone this one.

    According to Yahoo!’s draft analysis, Neil Rackers is being taken on average with the 65th pick, Vinatieri taken with the 66th pick, and Vanderjagt with the 77th. Pretty crazy if you ask me. Regarding Vanderjagt, he missed 2 short 30 yarders in overtime this last preseason game. He wouldn’t blame it on a groin injury however. My feeling is, he’s either hurt, or he simply sucks. Either way, I don’t want him, and I certainly don’t want to waste a mid pick on him.

    I usually don’t take my kickers and defenses early (meaning, before the last 2 rounds), unless there’s a solid one available and all my sleepers are either taken, or I know for certain I can get my sleeper with a last pick.
